Swansea Christmas Guide

If you hadn’t already been tipped off by the months-early decorations and Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas is You” on repeat ad nauseum wherever you go, Christmas is just around the corner! And whether you fancy a bit of shopping, some thrill-seeking or a hot cuppa indoors, Swansea and Cwtsh Hostel have got you covered.

Swansea’s Christmas market is making a return! A whole range of goodies will be available to purchase as gifts for your loved ones or as a cheeky treat for yourself, from personalised Christmas decorations to jewellery and leather goods. For those rumbling tummies make sure to grab yourself a bratwurst or a crepe on the go, or hold out a little longer and save some Welsh cheeses or locally brewed meads as the perfect present.

The Swansea Christmas market will be open from the 26th of November to the 21st of December.

Monday-Saturday: 9:30am-5:00pm

Sunday: 10:30am-4:30pm

The Waterfront Winterland is also back, bringing to Swansea all the magic of Christmas. Cosy up by the fire to roast some marshmallows before hopping onto the ice rink, then run back to the fire after inevitably falling onto the ice. Join in some carnival games to win that giant teddy bear that has caught your eye and enjoy some of the many rides available, with teacups and train rides for the kiddies or the Snow Storm and Extreme Ice for those who like the taste of their bratwurst on the way back up. Once you’ve just about had your fill of fun and excitement, why not end the night with a ride on the 33m Observation Wheel.

The Waterfront Winterland opened on the 12th of November and will close on the 3rd of January.

Monday-Friday until 17th December: 1:00pm-10:00pm

Saturday & Sunday and weekdays after 17th December: 11:00am-10:00pm

Closed Christmas Day & Boxing Day

After all that excitement you’ll certainly want a warm, relaxing place to wind down, and what better place to do it than the kitchen at our very own Cwtsh Hostel? Rest your weary legs on our comfy couches with a hot cup of tea or coffee and enjoy the fantastic views over Castle Square and its twinkling Christmas Tree. Then off to bed, or if you feel the night is young take a little trip down to the bars on Wind Street.

Whatever you choose to do this Christmas, we at Cwtsh Hostel wish you the very happiest of holidays.

Mwynhewch!
