Guide - Kilvey Hill

Kilvey Hill is a hidden gem in Swansea. It’s a simple hike/walk and the end result is spectacular views all over Swansea City and Swansea Bay. Just look at this view!

Kilvey hill is a community woodland managed by Kilvey Community Woodland Volunteers, Forest Enterprise and the City and County of Swansea. It is a young woodland and a refuge for wildlife in the city, incorporating a variety of habitats including woodland, heathland, wetland and meadow.

This guide will give you all the details you need to complete the route from Cwtsh Hostel.

Step 1: Starting at Cwtsh Hostel, walk to Kilvey Hill Car Park, St Thomas, Swansea SA1 7FR (link)

Step 2: From the carpark take the trail up to the Top of Kilvey Hill (link)

Step 3: From the top of Kilvey Hill walk down the trail to “The Dog Cabin”, from here you can walk down the hill and back to Cwtsh Hostel (Total 4.5 miles / 1 hour 30 total) (link)
