A Triumphant Return for Swansea Pride 2022
Pride made its way back to Swansea over the weekend after a two year gap due to the pandemic. It was clear that people had missed it by the huge crowds, colourful flags and beaming faces that could be seen all over the city centre across the bank holiday weekend.
The parade started on Wind St. at 11am and wound its way through the city finishing up at the Waterfront Museum Green at noon. A selection of stalls selling pride merch, food and drinks awaited the proud bunch with a concert stage set up to provide the rest of the day’s entertainment.
Hosted by local drag queens Ruby Slippers and Tallulah Bandersnatch, the live entertainment had everyone up singing and dancing and cheering on their favourite queens. Just behind the stage, the Waterfront Museum was open to all with a whole host of information stalls and activities including face painting, circus skills and African drums.
After the sun had set partygoers headed over to Fiction nightclub and celebrated all night long.
All in all it was a hugely successful Pride and a fabulous return to form. Looking forward to Swansea Pride 2023!
